Submission Guidelines

Submitting your story to BootstrappingStories.com and maximizing your user results requires that you follow a few simple steps.

1) Under the "Bootstrappers" navigation menu, you can read about the benefits on the "Create An Account" page. At the bottom of the page, click on the sign up link.

2) Submit the required information on the sign-up form.

3) After receiving your password and login information, submit your story and associated content. You must accept our "Terms Of Service" during this step. Basically, you will be giving us rights to share and promote your story in as many ways as we can in order to promote you, and bootstrapping in general, through our Awards Program, live events, publications, and other media.

4) Once your story is approved for live posting on the site, we strongly encourage you to maximize your exposure. We have prepared a "Promote Your Story" page with further instructions on how you might accomplish this. In brief, you should notify your local media, link to us, and let everyone know that you are a proud bootstrapper!

Useful Hints

You may also want to read our "Editorial Guidelines," under the "Editors" navigation menu, first. In general, we do want to help you share and promote your story, but we need your help to make sure that appropriate, well-written content is submitted, the first time.

Moderating and maintaining the editorial content on this site would not be possible without the generous contributions of our Editors, who work on a voluntary basis to serve the cause of bootstrapping.

Some of our Editors are professional writers who are available for freelance assignments (some are not, so please determine who may be available by reading editor profiles). You may want to hire them for a reasonable fee. You can also find freelance writers on the Internet. Keep in mind that all of our Editors are independent, and whatever you may arrange with them is strictly between you and any individual that you chose to work with. BootstrappingStories.com accepts no liability or responsibility for any arrangements that you may make.

Even though Editors work on a voluntary basis, they are still responsible for helping us maintain a high quality site, and they do receive the benefit of exposure as a respected member of the bootstrapping community that we have created. Please respect their time and judgment.

Our Editors are seeking Bootstrapping Stories, and will therefore reject articles (we do have a sister site: EntrepreneurshipArticles.com), sales pitches disguised as stories, SPAM, pornograhy, or "junk" content. In addition, our Editors will not accept material that is inappropriate or in violation of site policies or our Terms of Service. Please be nice, and recognize that we are trying to create a great site, and a community where bootstrappers can tell their stories, and be recognized.

Although we are based in the U.S., we want to celebrate bootstrappers everywhere. Entrepreneurial bootstrappers provide hope for a better world.

We look forward to receiving, approving, celebrating, and promoting your bootstrapping story!
